This guide is to help you find the rug you are looking for and if you are still not sure exactly what you do want it will hopefully give you some useful ideas and help the decision process. Modern Rugs, Funky Rugs, Designer Rug Collections
A selection of the best selling Modern & Contemporary Rugs in the UK. Some are 100% Wool or Wool blends while others are Acrylic or Polypropylene. Hand tufted modern rugs are made in India or China while machine made modern rugs are mainly made in Turkey, Egypt or Belgium. These include hand knotted oriental carpets, hand tufted and machine made rugs with wool and synthetic piles which mainly use classic Persian, Indian or Eastern designs. These are our collections of Plain rugs. All rugs that are plain, self-coloured as well as some bordered and mainly plain rugs can be found here. Oriental and Hand Knotted Rug Collections
These are the repeatable Oriental Rugs and flatweaves that we currently have on offer. Hand knotted rugs usually have a Wool pile but cotton and other natural fibres are also used. We also have many individual pieces in our Kendal store and these will be added to the clearance section shortly. These include mainly Persian, Afghan and Belouch stock but also include a variety of hand knotted rugs from all over the world.

Wool and Synthetic piles, hand tufted to machine made wiltons, large sizes and small, you will find them all here. Available in rectangles, squares, circles and runners at prices to suit everyone.
Childrens/Kids Rug Collections
Our Children’s rug collections. Fun as well as practical, these rugs brighten up any child’s room. From Disney characters to Spaceships, Pirates, Princesses and Castles we have an exciting range of designs on offer. Many are machine washable but all offer great value as well as comfort and style.
Kitchen, Dining Room, Utility Room Rug Collections
Rug Collections for the Kitchen and Utility areas. While any rug can be used in these areas, the cheaper flatweave rugs, gel back rugs and washable rugs are the most popular. Low pile wiltons rugs are also well suited to these locations as they are hard wearing and easy to clean. Kitchen mats are also perfect for in front of the sink and cooker as well as for anywhere where you want to protect a hard floor.
Rug Collections by Colour
One of the most popular ways to search for rugs is to choose the main colour you are after. We have grouped our collections into 12 main colour groups although some rugs are included in more than one groups. Rug Collections by Construction/Type
For construction/type we have made 5 main groups as follows, Hand Knotted, Hand Made, Flatweave, Machine Made and Wilton. Some rugs are of course included in more than one group. Rug Collections by Materials Used
Material is another popular way to search for rugs. The Groups we have used are Wool, Wool Blend, Sisal/Natural, Acrylic, Synthetic, Cotton, Polyester, Polypropylene & Viscose. Some rugs are included in more than one group. You can filter results by material using the top menu or click through to the next page to see more detail on each group.
If you need a certain shape of rug then this option is very useful. Made up of 7 main groups this will let you easily filter out results to show only rugs made in the shape you are after. Please bear in mind we don’t always have pictures of all the rugs in all the different shapes. The groups are Rectangle, Square, Runner, Circle, Oval, Half Moon and Misc and some rugs are included in more than one group. Size is important and searching for rugs made in the size you need has never been easier. We have made 4 simple groups to cover the main sizes readily available. Using the filters on the left of the page will let you fine tune your search further. The 4 basic groups are Small (<100×160), Medium (100×160-140×210), Large (140×210-170×250) and Extra large (170×250+). Budget and Affordable Rug Collections
If you are looking for cheap and inexpensive rugs then this is the page to go to. You can of course filter most of our shopping pages by price but if you click through to this page then we list our most popular rug collections for you. Most are of course synthetic piles as Wool is generally more expensive but we do include a couple of the cheaper Wool ranges.

If you are after a good quality rug that gives good value and will hold it’s appearance for years then you can’t go far wrong with a good quality wilton rug. Ideal for all areas of the home and made with short tight piles ideal for living rooms and under dining tables as well as longer shag piles for Lounge or Bedroom and everything in between.
